Who we are

MacPrice is an independent price comparison site for MacBook and Mac computers sold in Sri Lanka. Prices are shown in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR). The site is operated as a personal project by Oshadha Vimukthi.

What we collect

MacPrice has no accounts, no logins and no newsletter. We do not ask you for your name, email address, phone number or payment details, and there is nowhere on this site to give them to us.

We use Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand which pages are visited and how quickly they load. These collect aggregated, anonymised usage data — page paths, referrers, approximate country, device type and performance timings. They do not use cookies to track you across websites and do not build an advertising profile of you.

Your theme preference (light or dark) is stored in your own browser's local storage. It never leaves your device and we cannot read it.

Links to retailers

When you click through to a shop, you leave MacPrice and that retailer's own privacy policy applies. We do not control what they collect. MacPrice does not currently use affiliate links, and we receive no commission on anything you buy.

Where our prices come from

Prices are collected automatically from each retailer's own public product pages, roughly once an hour, and stored so we can show how a price has changed over time.

Prices are scraped from each retailer and may lag the shop's own site. Always confirm on the retailer's page before buying. A price shown here is what the retailer published when we last checked. It may have changed since, and stock can sell out between checks. Where a shop does not publish stock information we say so rather than guessing, and we never present a price as available when we cannot confirm it.

MacPrice is not a shop. You cannot buy anything from us, and we are not a party to any transaction between you and a retailer.

Trademarks and independence

MacPrice is an independent price comparison site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple Inc. Apple, MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac mini and related marks are trademarks of Apple Inc. Retailer names and logos are the property of their respective owners and are used only to identify the shop whose price is being shown.

Your choices

Because we do not collect personal data, there is no account to delete and no profile to export. You can block analytics with any standard content blocker without affecting how the site works, and you can clear the stored theme preference by clearing this site's data in your browser.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Questions, corrections and removal requests can be raised through the project maintainer on GitHub.
